Spring Has Sprung!

Apr 12, 2019

Dear Parents,

Spring has sprung, and we are truly seeing our students blossom inside the classroom, on the yard and play areas, and in their interactions with peers and their teachers. Between IGD and Jump-a-Thon, as well as their regular everyday schedule, our students have been working hard! Now, it’s time for a well-deserved break.

Celebration Tickets on Sale Now!

Apr 05, 2019

We are reaching one of my favorite times of year-- when we gear up for our second annual day school celebration! This year we are celebrating the 90s, as well as honoring some educators and supporters who have made a huge impact in our school: Cindy Kestenbaum for her years of support as an educator at ADAT, and Chuck and Barrie Richter for their constant support, allowing us to continue to further the mission of our school.

We hope you received your invitation in the mail!

The Needs Statement

Mar 29, 2019

Dear Parents,

The Design Thinking process teaches many skills that we value: empathy, iteration, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. What makes ADAT’s version of Design Thinking unique is the way in which we explicitly teach Judaism through action. As we continue to refine the way we utilize this process with our students, we have been able to hone in on the part of the process that enables us to infuse Jewish learning into each project: “The Needs Statement”.

The Principal Learner

Mar 15, 2019

Dear Parents:

I have had some incredible learning opportunities in these past two weeks that I wanted to share with you. It was inspiring, and helped me focus on what is essential to continue to bring our school to higher heights. I also had the opportunity to share about our school and the work we've been doing with educators from around the continent.

Purim Memories & Creating New Ones

Mar 08, 2019

Dear Parents,

For me, Purim is a magical time of year. When I think back to growing up, the way that my synagogue community came together for our annual carnival was an important part of my Jewish identity. The parking lot, the playground, the hallways, all of the places I knew like the back of my hand, were transformed. My friends and I would roam in a pack from booth to booth, enjoying being surrounded by people who had known us our whole lives. We would be so excited to see what was the same as the year before, and what was new.

A Jumping Good Time

Mar 01, 2019

Dear Parents:

This week, you should have received in your children’s backpacks information about our upcoming Jump-a-Thon on Thursday, March 28. If you have only been at ADAT since the beginning of this year or last year, this elusive Jump-a-Thon might have you asking yourself, “What is this event that I always hear people talking about”?! Well, regardless of how long you have been here, I want you to know more about Jump-a-Thon and how you can play an important role in its success!
